HCP FAQs
Home Care Packages (HCP) are government-funded in-home care packages designed to help your elderly loved one live comfortable at home. Your level 3 package will include essential services like personal care, home and garden maintenance, social support, allied health support and behavioural and memory changes. They are tailor-made packages designed to help your loved one lead a rich and fulfilling life with more time at home and seeing loved ones.
Webb Home Care provides government-funded HCP. However, you may still have to cover some of the service costs depending on your financial situation. You and your elderly relative have the choice as to who will provide your package whilst delegating funds for its particular services.
To begin, you must apply through the government MY Aged Care website or give them a call on 1800 200 422. Your relative will then receive an evaluation in which they will be asked about their current health and lifestyle as well as any assistance they think they need around the home. You can join them on this consultation in which you will also be required to provide your Medicare details.
After the initial evaluation, an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) will come to your loved one’s home to provide a comprehensive evaluation of their requirements. This evaluation will be held to understand whether they require more intermediate support around the home. They will then determine if your loved one requires a level 3 package or different solution.
